I hunt in northeast Missouri that is run by the U.S. corps. of engineer's, "public ground". This deer has been in my site's for the last 3yrs, w/ numerous photo's. Nicknamed "Moose", I passed him 2010' w/ a broken side, only seen once in 2011. 2012 brought severe drought cond., EHD was hard on deer, no photo's for over a month had me concerned. October 1st, I hunted that morning, about 9:00 I floated my kayak down river to set a stand, halfway to my location i spotted a good buck bedded in the weeds next to river, I foated pass the deer and made a stalk back to him, getting to within 20 yds. I found a hole to shoot thru, the arrow found its mark and the deer headed strait for the river where he died. Not knowing, this was the "moose".
