It was a Friday night and after class(being in college limits my hunting)I got in the woods with only about an hour and a half of light left. Not extremely optimistic being so late, and the warm weather, but excited to be in the woods so I settled in for the evening hunt. With my girlfriend next to me, on the ground, and overlooking a small pond I heard leaves rustling in the woods after only about 15 minutes I saw legs coming toward the pond. I told her to be still and to keep her eyes open and range the deer when it stopped. When he stepped out I saw that he was a nice buck and decided to shoot. Right before I drew I asked for a range and she told me 45 yards. I drew, steadied and shot. He dropped in his tracks. My biggest buck.
